i Tunes

i Tunes has proven to be a bit of a cultural time machine for me. Today I bought "Epic" and "Falling to Pieces" by Faith No More. These are from their album "The Real Thing" which proved to be a somewhat important pivot point for the development of my musical taste. A friend lent me a tape of this on the way back from watching a hockey match and it was my first real introduction to the world of hard rock/metal (whichever you please to tag it) and moved me away from the tastes of my brothers (mainly U2 and REM) into my own tastes. It led to a greater liking for things with a harder edge and with a bit of a difference about them.

The good thing is that the songs that I have downloaded today sound as good as I remember them to be. Now let me go and dig out "Angel Dust"...
